Kim Kardashian reveals she walked Madonna’s dog in exchange for the singer’s iconic jewellery as she reflects on being neighbours with the Queen of Pop in new Vogue documentary

Kim Kardashian has revealed that she walked Madonna‘s dog in exchange for the singer’s iconic jewellery when she was a kid.

While most kids wash their parent’s car or babysit for some pocket money, the SKIMS founder, 42, had a much more high profile way of spending her time when she was a child.

In a scene in new Disney+ documentary In Vogue: The 90s, Kim recalled being neighbours with the music icon, 66, in the 90s when she was around eight years-old, with herself and older sister Kourtney, 45, often tasked with walking Madonna’s dog.

However, instead of bagging themselves a few dollars for their piggy banks, the girls were rewarded with something much more glamorous – Madonna’s iconic neon bracelets.

Reflecting on being gifted the jewellery by the Queen of Pop, who was transitioning out of the 80s neon phase, Kim said: ‘One day I went down to walk Madonna’s dog and she brought down a shoebox and gave it to me and Kourtney.

‘We opened the box and it was all neon rubbery bracelets, and she said – “here girls I am so over this phase”, and we went to school and we were wearing all this like neon stuff and everyone was like “oh my God, where did you get that?”

‘And we were like “Madonna gave it to me” and they were like “yeah right”, and I am like “no seriously, Madonna gave it to me!”‘

The documentary In Vogue: The 90s, which will start streaming on Friday, is a star-studded look at the fashion industry during the decade.

It speaks to former Vogue editors including Edward Enninful and Anna Wintour and celebrities such as supermodel Naomi Campbell, actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker.

It also features designer Stella McCartney who revealed the advantage she had being the daughter of The Beatles star Paul.

Kim’s words came after Anna Wintour said that when she became Vogue editor, she decided to take it in new direction in 1989, looking at who young people were looking up to as style icons.

The scene then it cut to Kim on the couch talking about her Madonna anecdote.

Kim has previously revealed this story before, as she opened up to Jimmy Kimmell in April about her interactions with neighbour Madonna.

Reflecting on being gifted the jewellery by the Queen of Pop, who was transitioning out of the 80s neon phase, Kim said: ‘One day I went down to walk Madonna’s dog and she brought down a shoebox and gave it to me and Kourtney’

After detailing her experience as a dog walker, Kim was asked if she ever tick or treated at the Material Girl hitmaker’s hoe.

While she didn’t, the reality star did say she bumped into Madonna while trick or treating,  remarking: ‘We ran into each other actually trick-or-treating. We both had like masks on and we were going to the same house and then we looked at each other and I was like, “M? Kim?”‘

Meanwhile in the Vogue documentary, Kate Moss revealed the ‘awful abuse’ she received from anorexic girls’ parents over her infamous ‘heroin chic’ look in the nineties.

The 50-year-old, who became the poster girl for the trend in the Nineties, said that people would approach her in the street and accuse her of promoting eating disorders.

She told a new Disney+ documentary: ‘Parents would come up to me and say, “My daughter’s anorexic”. It was awful.

‘I think because I was just skinny, and people weren’t used to seeing skinny. But if I’d been more buxom, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal. It’s just that my body shape was different from the models before me.’

Detectives probe disturbing theory over devastating Sydenham house fire that almost killed three young children

Detectives are investigating if three very young children critically injured in a Melbourne house fire had been left home alone when the blaze erupted.

A five-year-old girl, a three-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl remain in the Royal Children’s Hospital in a critical condition after being pulled from the rear of the burning property by firefighters.

It is understood neighbours alerted firefighters to the blaze just before 9.30pm on Sunday, with emergency crews arriving at the Fergus Court home, in the north-western suburb of Sydenham, just six minutes later.

They raised the alarm after reportedly hearing a loud bang before the flames engulfed the home, followed by a series of further explosions, sparking concerns fireworks may have played a role in triggering the blaze.

But on Monday, Victoria Police Arson and Explosives Squad Detective Acting Inspector Adam Henry said they had so far found no evidence of that.

All three of the children were found unconscious from smoke inhalation in an area towards the front of the home, he said.

The fire is believed to have started at the rear of the home, which was gutted by the fire.

‘At the time (fire crews) were unaware that anyone was inside the property and it is our understanding that the family had only moved in a week earlier,’ Inspector Henry said.

‘Firefighters entered and subsequently located three children … all three were conveyed to hospital with life threatening injuries and all remain in a critical condition.’

Inspector Henry said it remained unknown how the fire was started.

‘We believe the fire started inside the property, not from anything outside or exterior,’ he said.

‘I understand that neighbours have heard loud bangs, but there is nothing at this time to indicate that the fire was started by fireworks either being used by the children or by anyone else in the area.’

Police believe the fire may have been building for up to 30 minutes before authorities were alerted.

The detective said there was nothing to indicate anyone from outside had set fire to the home.

‘We are still working to determine who else may have been in the property with the children at the time of the fire or if they were alone,’ he said.

The mother of the children is yet to be formally interviewed by detectives.

‘Police have already spoken briefly to the mother of the three children,,’ Inspector Henry said.

‘However she is understandably quite distressed by the incident and remains at the hospital with her children.’

Among those already spoken to by police include one of the children’s biological fathers.

‘At this stage it is too early to say whether the fire is suspicious or not and it’s important we don’t pre-empt any possible outcomes or make any assumptions,’ he said.

Detectives were seen canvassing the neighbourhood for CCTV on Monday in the hope of getting a better idea of what happened and who was home at the time of the blaze.

‘We’ll speak to the mother in due course. At this time she’s with her children and that’s where she needs to be,’ Inspector Henry said.

Police told reporters during a press conference on Monday afternoon that detectives were not looking for anyone else in relation to the fire.

‘We’ll work tirelessly through the next couple of days to determine the cause of the fire,’ Inspector Henry said.

Detectives are also canvassing the area in search of CCTV they believe might help determine where the children's guardians were at the time of the blaze

Forensic police were seen combing through debris outside the home after they joined fire investigators and Victoria Police’s Arson Squad at the scene.

Neighbours have claimed a car had been parked under the home’s carport before the fire, but was not there when the inferno took grip of the building.

It is understood police are working to establish if anyone in the home had left around the time the blaze erupted.

The crime scene remains taped off as police continue to probe inside the house for clues.

A dog was carried out of the backyard by a firefighter about 9.30am on Monday.

It appeared uninjured and is believed to have fled the fire and returned home later.

The dog was kept in a fire duty pod, along with a child’s couch, outside the property until council workers took it away.

Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Tyrese Gibson arrested after failing to make monthly $10K child support payments as he is held in contempt of court

Tyrese Gibson has been taken into custody after he failed to pay the monthly $10,000 child support payments a judge ordered him to make to his ex Samantha Lee.

TMZ reports Gibson – who shares five-year-old daughter Soraya with Lee – was held in contempt of court Monday morning during a hearing over the matter.

The outlet reports Judge Kevin Farmer was upset over Gibson’s refusal to make the monthly $10,000 child support payments the actor was ordered to begin paying in April 2023.

Farmer held Gibson in contempt of court Monday, and the Fast & Furious actor was placed in handcuffs by the bailiff and taken out of the courtroom, TMZ reports.

The judge offered Gibson the chance to resolve the issue and avoid jail time if he pays $73,000. That figure includes Samantha’s attorney fees, which total $7,500.

Tyreek Hill begged teammates ‘don’t leave me!’ as he was being handcuffed before Dolphins’ Week 1 opener, says Miami’s Calais Campbell

Tyreek Hill begged ‘don’t leave me’ to his Dolphins teammates as he was being handcuffed by Miami-Dade police prior to Sunday’s Week 1 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in South Florida.

As Dolphins defensive lineman Calais Campbell told ESPN’s First Take, Hill’s detainment in Miami Gardens was ‘a crazy situation’ and ‘definitely unnecessary’ due to the physical force police were using on Hill.

Campbell was driving to the game when he noticed one lane of traffic was blocked. When he got out of his vehicle to see the situation, he saw his teammate being taken down by a Miami-Dade officer.

‘Then I see Tyreek in handcuffs, and I’m whoa, that’s a big deal,’ Campbell told Stephen A. Smith & Co. ‘They were being real physical with him, so I got out the car,’ he continued. ‘I don’t know if I have the ability to deescalate this, but I’m gonna try because this is someone I care about, it’s a friend of mine.’

Smith, who would go on to criticize Miami-Dade police for their handling of the situation, asked Campbell to go through the story carefully, detailing the allegations of unnecessary force.

‘They were trying to yank him down to the ground. I saw them kick him, pull him down, put on the cuffs… one officer was pushing on his head. Completely unnecessary.’

Officers ultimately cited for careless driving and a seatbelt violation. Campbell, who was briefly handcuffed for ‘disobeying a direct order’ from an officer, did not receive a citation.

One unnamed officer has been placed on leave as a result of the incident.

‘Of all the officers there, it was really just one guy that was extreme,’ Campbell said. ‘Everybody else seemed there like they were doing what they were supposed to do.

‘One officer was a little bit elevated. He told me I wasn’t listening to him, so he detained me as well. Put me in handcuffs.’

Although he didn’t get in any legal trouble, Campbell disputes the accusation that he disobeyed the officer in question.

‘I’m complying, doing whatever it is he’s telling me to do,’ Campbell said. ‘I just wanted to make sure I was there supporting my teammate, especially as a black man in America, just all the different things that happen with police officers in certain situations.’

Tyreek Hill has ‘no idea’ why he was detained by police

To calm the officer, Campbell said, he approached him with his hands raised.

‘So I got out, had my hands up like this, approaching, just telling him, ‘hey, I’m a friend of his, I don’t know what’s going on here but I think the situation is definitely unnecessary.’

‘He told me to: ‘Back up! Back up!’

The same officer who Campbell thought was overly aggressive with Hill instructed the veteran defensive lineman to leave the scene because his car was blocking traffic.

Even when the office threatened to tow Campbell’s car, Hill’s teammate refused to leave the scene.

‘This is my friend here,’ Campbell told ESPN. ‘I’m here to support him, I’m not leaving.’

Eventually the officer became frustrated and put Campbell in cuffs before taking down his license information and allowing the 38-year-old to leave.

But Campbell and another teammate, Jonnu Smith, weren’t leaving Hill so quickly.

‘He was telling Jonnu saying: ‘don’t leave me, don’t leave me,’ Campbell said.

In response, both Smith and Campbell told Hill they were there for him and had his back.

Moment Miami Dolphin’s Tyreek Hill is arrested by police

In response to Campbell’s on-air testimony, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith blasted the Miami-Dade department’s handling of the situation.

‘I didn’t see what they all did when he was laying face-down on the ground,’ Smith said. ‘You just saw officers surrounding him and putting him in cuffs; but when he was stood up thereafter — with his hands cuffed behind his back — and a second officer came and forcibly sat him down, this is what we’re talking about when we talk about the ease with which dehumanization kicks in when it comes to black men.’

Similarly, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said his client didn’t deserve to be handcuffed prior to Miami’s home opener on Sunday and predicts the All-Pro receiver will be taking legal action against South Florida police over the incident.

‘What happened today to Tyreek at the stadium is completely unacceptable,’ Drew Rosenhaus told DailyMail.com by email after seeing his client cited for speeding and reckless driving in Miami Gardens on Sunday. ‘Tyreek did not deserve to be treated that way by the police involved. Tyreek’s legal team will be pursuing this matter on Tyreek’s behalf and I’m sure they will consider taking legal action.’

Rosenhaus, who lives in South Florida and got his undergrad degree from the University of Miami, was riding with Hill on Sunday when the Dolphins receiver was flagged by police as he approached the stadium.

The exact details of the incident are still emerging, but onlookers recorded Hill being handcuffed and placed face down on the street by Miami-Dade Police, one of whom has since been placed on leave over the incident.

The South Florida Police Benevolent Association has since issued a statement in defense of the Miami-Dade department’s handling of the situation.

‘Before the Dolphins game yesterday, an incident occurred where Tyreek Hill was placed in handcuffs before being released,’ Steadman Stahl, the president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association said in a statement. ‘First, to be clear, at no time was he ever under arrest. He was briefly detained for officer safety, after driving in a manner in which he was putting himself and others in great danger.

‘Upon being stopped, Mr. Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on scene who, pursuant to policy and for their immediate safety, placed Mr. Hill in handcuffs. Mr. Hill, still uncooperative, refused to sit on the ground and was therefore redirected to the ground,’ Stahl added.

‘Once the situation was sorted out within a few minutes, Mr. Hill was issued two traffic citations and was free to leave.’

Major egg recall across multiple states over salmonella fears after dozens sickened

A severe salmonella outbreak in nine states has triggered a widespread recall of certain brands of eggs.

On Friday, health officials made the decision to remove potentially hazardous products from shelves after they identified a farm in Wisconsin as the source of the infections.

All eggs sold at ‘Milo’s Poultry Farms’ or ‘Tony’s Fresh Market’ have been recalled.

State officials revealed that 42 of the infections occurred in Wisconsin, where a large number of people said they got sick after eating eggs at restaurants.

According to the CDC, the outbreak originated at Milo’s Poultry Farms in Bonduel, where they discovered the responsible strain in a hen egg-laying house and a packing facility.

Afterwards, every egg type and carton size produced at the farm was quickly recalled.

The recall covered products with ‘all expiration dates,’ but at this time, it is unclear how many were ultimately recovered.

From Milo’s Poultry Farms, the eggs were originally shipped to grocery stores and food suppliers in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois, according to the FDA.

In addition to Wisconsin, cases of salmonella were reported in California, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Utah, Virginia, and Illinois, where there were 11 documented infections, the second largest amount.

With three confirmed illnesses, Minnesota had the third most Salmonella cases.

The first infection was reported as early as May, but a majority of them were documented between July and August, according to the CDC.

The FDA said symptoms of Salmonella range from abdominal pain, fever, and diarrhea.

They noted that signs of the infection are generally apparent within three days of consuming the compromised food.

After about a week, symptoms tend to vanish. However, those with weakened immune systems, such as children and old people, are vulnerable to graver and occasionally fatal infections.

Along with the CDC, the Food and Drug administration is still actively investigating the outbreak.

The salmonella infections come after a summer that featured a fatal spate of listeria cases, which resulted in the recall of seven million pounds of Boar’s Head deli meet products.

The outbreak culminated in nine deaths and a series of hospitalizations.

It led to the temporary shuttering of a Boar’s Head facility in Virginia, where officials discovered dead flies, black mold, and water dripping over meat.

iPhone 16 release event

Apple Intelligence unveiled

Apple Intelligence will have the power to run multiple generative AI models on your compatible iPhone.

Private Cloud Compute will allow you to maintain your data privacy and security while still tapping into these AI features.

What’s more, 100% of the data centers that will support the AI platform will run on renewable energy, Apple said.

New AI features include generative writing tools, custom ‘Genmoji’ generation, a smart photo library, and Siri upgrades to make interacting with the digital assistant more natural and effective – including the ability to type to Siri instead of speaking.

You’ll also have the ability to search for something simply by snapping a photo of it. If you come across a bike that you’re interested in buying, for example, just take a picture and your iPhone will search for for it on the web.

After lagging behind competitors like Google and Amazon in the AI race, this launch marks a big step forward for Apple.

‘Apple is copying Google with that visual intelligence tool, Google Lens came out years ago,’ Best said.

Apple EventSeptember 9, 2024

The new iPhone 16 will be 50 percent tougher than previous iPhone models, come in three new colors – ultramarine, teal and pink – and include a customizable action button that lets you record voice memos, indentify a song or translate a phrase.

Users have been skeptical of the customizable action button’s effectiveness since it was first rumored to roll out with the iPhone 15 Pro. Many people think it will meet hte same fate as the MacBook’s touchbar, a feature that Apple scratched due to lack of consumer interest in 2023.

But perhaps most importantly, it will be fully compatible with Apple Intelligence, Apple’s very own AI platform. That means it will have a bunch of new AI features at the core of its functionality.

Apple CEO Tim Cook tweets photo from Apple Park

We’re less than two hours away from the start of today’s event. CEO Tim Cook tweeted this photo from Apple Park in Cupertino.

X users are speculating that the image may be AI generated – perhaps to show off the capabilitites of Apple Intelligence.

Apple Store site is DOWN in anticipation of event

Apple typically takes its online store offline prior to a launch event so that it can prepare pages for its new products.

That means you can’t purchase any Apple products until the event ends later today. But today probably isn’t the best day to purchase a new iPhone or Apple device anyway.

Waiting until a few weeks after the launch gives you more time to determine whether the newest models are worth the pricetag, or if you would rather purchase a slightly older model for less money.

Update on virtual or augmented reality devices?

There’s no evidence to suggest that Apple will give an update on its Vision Pro, Apple Glasses or any new virtual or augmented reality devices today.

However, there has been some new leaked information about the Apple Glasses, which are expected to launch in 2027.

But we could have them, or a cheaper version of Vision pro, as early as 2025.

These lightweight AR spectacles will be different from the Vision Pro goggles in that they’re designed for everyday wear. They’re considered a direct competitor of Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which launched in 2021.

The Apple Glasses are expected to launch with augmented reality and eye-scanning features, but little else is known about the functionality and design of this forthcoming product.

Potential surprise product debuts, including iPad mini 7

Apple could surprise us with a few unexpected device reveals during the event, including the iPad mini 7.

The iPad mini 6 came out in 2021, so this tablet is due for an upgrade.

The new mini is rumored to come with Apple Pencil Pro support, storage capacity and memory increases and a range of new color options.

Apple expected to unveil new Apple Watch and AirPods

In addition to the iPhone 16 lineup, new devices expected to launch at today’s event include the Apple Watch X and the AirPods 4.

Other devices that could launch today include the Apple Watch Ultra 3, AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Max 2, but these are less certain to appear.

The two models included in this new Apple Watch series are rumored to come with some exciting health-tracking features. That includes an updated heart rate and ECG sensor as well as an all-new sleep apnea detection feature.

Apple Watch could also be getting a makeover, with this new series expected to have a larger but slimmer screen design.

The new Airpods will likely offer improved sound quality over the AirPods 3, which came out in 2021. AirPods 4 will also be the first non-pro set to feature active noise cancellation, and will come with a new case with a built-in speaker.

Apple is finally entering the AI race with the launch of Apple Intelligence.

The company has described the new software as a ‘personal intelligence system that puts powerful generative models right at the core of your iPhone, iPad and Mac.’

The new features packed into this platform include generative writing and image-making tools, the ability to create custom emojis (or Genmojis), and big improvements to Siri.

Apple’s foray into AI began with the introduction of their digital assistant, Siri, in 2011. But since then, the company has lagged behind competitors like Amazon and Google.

But with the launch of Apple Intelligence, the company is aiming to make its mark on the ‘conscious AI’ market.

iPhone 16 will support highly-anticipated AI features

iPhone 16 is Apple’s first phone lineup designed to support AI features.

At today’s event, the company is expected to unveil the standard 16 as well as the iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Each of these phones will be compatable with Apple Intelligence, Apple’s very own AI platform.

The iPhone 16 lineup won’t launch with Apple Intelligence right off the bat. While the new phones will become available for purchase today, the AI platform isn’t expected to roll out until the end of October, according to 9to5Mac.

iOS 18 packed with new features, including the ability to control your phone with your eyes

iOS 18 is expected to launch with a bunch of exciting new accessibilty features, including the ability to control your phone with just your eyes.

iPhone Eye Tracking will work on any iPhone that’s compatible with iOS 18. To enable this feature, go to Settings, tap Accessibility, swipe down and choose Eye Tracking and toggle it on.

Your phone will walk you through a brief calibration process so that it can learn to recognize your eye movements. Then, you will be able to navigate your screen, open apps and perform tasks inside apps all without ever touching your screen.

Apple is hosting its ‘It’s Glowtime’ event today, where it is expected to debut the new iPhone 16 and reveal more details about the upcoming launch of iOS 18 and highly-anticipated AI platform, Apple Intelligence.

In addition to the iPhone 16, products expected to launch include the Apple Watch X and perhaps the Apple Watch Ultra 3, and the AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Max 2.

The event will be held at Apple Headquarters in Cupertino on Monday, September 9 at 1 pm ET (10 am PT, 6 pm UK).
