A North Carolina woman on a getaway in Tennessee captured the moment a mother bear charged at her on the front porch of her cabin.

Emma Staneart, a nurse, recorded the terrifying moment while on vacation in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The video shows a bear and her cubs walking along the front porch, and as the bears got closer, Staneart pulled the camera away and retreated inside the cabin while screaming.

‘We had just gotten home when we saw her on the road and ran inside as soon as the bear changed direction and came towards the cabin,’ she told her 350,000 TikTok followers. ‘We did not call them to us or try to feed them.’

Staneart and her husband, Nate, were staying at a cabin in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and encountered the bears near the end of their trip

Others claimed that she put herself and the bears in danger.

One user commented: ‘stop filming innocent animals if any contact to a human because of this video mamma would be euthanized (killed) because you wanted likes!’

Staneart responded: ‘When I took this video, I was terrified because it was a momma with cubs.’

In her response, she made it clear that the bear was filmed through a bedroom window looking onto the porch and she was not blocking any exits for the bear to leave.

‘Tell me I shouldn’t have screamed. And what would you have done?’

She also said that she had researched black bears and their defensive nature with cubs and humans, saying that researchers have found black bears are not as protective as other types of bears.

Biologist Dr Lynn Rogers, founder of The Wildlife Research Institute, said their research found black bears were more reluctant to protect their cubs than others species including grizzly bears.

Staneart added: ‘I’m not gonna go up to a bear.

‘I’m gonna be the one running and screaming.’

An expectant father from Tennessee has died just weeks before the birth of his second son following an allergic reaction to a wasp sting.

Matt Johnson, 40, was out checking his duck blind in a remote part of West Memphis when the incident occurred.

He managed to administer his EpiPen and call an ambulance before walking somewhere to be picked up.

The devoted dad developed an allergy to wasps in adulthood, his friend Patrick Weddling told 6News.

‘They were out in the middle of nowhere, so they were trying to get somewhere to meet the ambulance, and they did find them, thankfully, but I think he was unconscious when he got into the ambulance.’

He has now set up a GoFundMe to help cover expenses for his wife Ashton and their  children Rhett, three, and unborn son Cole who is due to arrive in three weeks.

‘Matt was loved by so many people as he had a huge heart and made friends with anyone he met,’ Weddling said.

‘His personality would light up a room. He loved Ashton and Rhett so much and was the best father.

‘His bond with Rhett was unmatched, except for their matching outfits.’

His neighbor Stephanie White also paid tribute to the late father

 ‘Matt was one of the very best! He rounded out our crew and we truly don’t know how to do life without him,’ she said.

‘He was a great neighbor and friend […] he was a great big teddy bear to my kiddo and he will truly be missed.’

Johnson co-owned trucking company Southern Xpress. His loved ones planned to hold a celebration of his life after Cole’s birth.

So far, the fundraiser has racked up more than $30,000 in donations.

‘It’s great. People are just so generous and he would be the first one to donate to something like this himself,’ Weddling added.

‘So, I think things like that come back when you treat people right your whole life and have people’s back that it comes back. I’m not surprised at all.’

She claims to have spoken to Colt’s school counselor on the morning of the incident to report receiving a concerning text message from him.

‘The counselor said, ”well I want to let you know that earlier this morning, one of Colt’s teachers sent me an email that said Colt had been making references to school shootings”,’ Marcee claimed.

‘Between my gut feelings, the text messages and now this email, y’all need to go, like, run, to the classroom.’

Later, Marcee tearfully said: ‘If I could take their place, I would. I would in a heartbeat.’

Mason Schermerhorn, 14, Christian Angulo, 14, Richard Aspinwall, 39 and Cristina Irimie, 53 were all fatally shot during the massacre.

Police allege when they arrived, Colt dropped his weapon and confessed that he was responsible for the tragedy.

Colin Gray, 54, gifted his son the rifle despite the fact he had been previously interviewed by police over alleged threats Colt made against a different school.

The father and son had been on the FBI’s radar for more than a year over the incident, but no arrests were made.

Colin now faces two counts of second-degree murder, four counts of involuntary manslaughter and eight counts of cruelty to children.

If convicted on all charges he could receive up to 180 years in jail.

‘Well that was terrifying,’ Meteorologist Jason Adams posted on X. ‘Taxiing out for the flight from Atlanta to Louisiana and another plane appears to have clipped the back of our plane.

‘Very jarring, metal scraping sounds then loud bangs. We’re fine. No fire or smoke. Awaiting instructions.’

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the US’ busiest airport and is Delta’s hub.

Police bodycam footage shows the moment Tyreek Hill whizzed past a Miami cop before he was pulled over and pinned to the ground by officers on Sunday.

Hill, the Miami Dolphins‘ star wide receiver, was handcuffed by cops in dramatic scenes after being cited for two traffic violations while making his way to Hard Rock Stadium for the team’s opening NFL game of the season.

Shocking videos showed the 30-year-old being handcuffed and restrained on the floor after he was stopped for speeding, while one officer even appeared to strike him on the sidewalk.

As he was violently apprehended by police, several of Hill’s teammates pulled over to try to deescalate the situation, only for defensive tackle Calais Campbell to briefly be placed in handcuffs himself.

One of the officers involved in the incident has been placed on administrative leave amid an investigation by the Miami-Dade Police Department, who have released bodycam footage of Hill’s detainment.

At the start of the footage, Hill can be seen speeding past the cop who eventually stopped him and then dragged him to the ground.

The NFL star flies down the road in his black sports car to alert the officer’s attention before he is asked to pull over.

After doing so, the altercation begins when Hill seemingly refuses to wind down his window when instructed to.

Police initially approached his car before he appeared to hand over his license while telling a cop to ‘do what you got to do.’

Hill then put his window up, which prompted officers to tap on the car and tell him: ‘Hey, keep that window down!’

Cops were heard telling Hill to ‘stop crying’ after dragging him out of his car and forcing him face down on to the road.

‘When we tell you to do something, you do it. You understand? Not what you want, what we tell you. You’re a little f****** confused,’ an officer told him.

A Florida police union claimed that Hill was driving dangerously when he was pulled over in Miami on Sunday and that he was cuffed after refusing to cooperate. Hill said he has ‘no idea’ what sparked his detainment.

His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, claims he was cited for reckless driving and driving without a license.

On Monday, a remarkable three-minute clip of the scene appeared, with Hill claiming ‘it went from 0 to 60 immediately’. He told NBC: ‘If I wasn’t Tyreek Hill, Lord knows… worst-case scenario, I would have been shot or would have been locked up’.

The Dolphins described the video as ‘both maddening and heartbreaking’. The team vowed to stand with Hill and called for ‘swift and strong action’ against the officers guilty of ‘overly aggressive’, ‘violent’ and ‘despicable’ behavior.

A neurosurgeon has survived a plane crash in Brazil for the second time in 18 months.

Jacinto Lay, 50, attempted to make an emergency landing on a highway in the northeast city of Teresina on Sunday after his engine failed.

Surveillance video showed the doctor’s plane making the crash landing. The small  aircraft plowed into a van with four people inside and struck a motorcycle carrying two passengers before slamming into a bus station.

He was rushed to Teresina Emergency Hospital, where he was treated for head trauma.

He underwent surgery on Sunday and Monday for a brain injury and two leg fractures, Brazilian news outlet G1 reported.

Lay, who runs his own clinic in Teresina and has practiced medicine for 20 years, was transferred to a private medical facility upon the request of his family, the hospital said in a statement.

He was in serious but stable condition.

Lay contacted the Teresina control tower after he noticed the plane’s engine was not functioning, according to a transcript of the conversation.

He declared an emergency, citing propeller failure, and said he was looking for a spot to land.

After being told by the control tower operator that they were going to provide a location, Lay shouted: ‘Propeller loss in flight. Will try to land in the Sierra sector. Will try to land on the BR (Brazilian Highway) that goes to Barro Duro.’

The Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents II is leading an investigation into the incident.

Lay miraculously survived a crash March 26, 2023, in Timon, Maranhão after a piece in one of the windows of his plane was loosened. He had surgery to repair an ankle fracture.

On January 14, 2023, a gang linked to Bolivian drug traffickers broke into an aeroclub and stole Lay’s Cessna.

‘I never thought someone would steal a plane,’ Lay told G1 at the time of the theft. ‘It’s the first time I’ve heard of this here in the state. The feeling is of insecurity, helplessness, it’s very sad what happened.’

The aircraft was carrying a shipment of drug and crashed eight days later in Mato Grosso due to lack of fuel. Authorities arrested 22 suspects in the states of Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Piauí and Pernambuco.
